Social Justice And Equality For All
If you have been following us for a while then where we stand on this will be no surprise to you. If not then lets get straight to the point. We Believe that all people, no matter race, religion, gender identity, or sexuality deserve equality. With that we recognize that inequality has targeted people of color, and the lgbtqia+ communities for far to long. We as a company commit to always doing our best, and learning how to continue that improvement. We believe that this work should be done not with just words, but with action, financial support, in our work and personal lives. Sustainability, And The Future Of Our Planet
Sustainability has been on our minds for some time. For a long time we put of making changes, because we liked that cute esthetic of out branding. We have decided that that trade of waste vs the 3 second enjoyment our customers have of cute packaging is not worth it. We have spent months learning how to create as sustainable of product and packaging as we can manage. There are 3 phases to completely moving over to sustainable packaging.
1- Use what we have. In no way does it help that planet for us to toss our current packaging stock in favor of sustainable packaging, it just creates purposeless waste. So for now we will be using what we have as sparingly in order to make sure that when it is used, it in necessary. We ask that you recycle, reuse, or upcycle whatever you can. If you are unsure how to, shoot us a message and we will help!
2- We will be adding a “zero waste” check out option. This will mean your shipment will be sent in a reused package, with brown compostable paper to buffer if necessary, with no extra card, notes etc. Essentially as little packaging as possible. The most important part of sustainability is to use less, and if you must use something, make it reused.
3- Once we have used what we have, only then will we purchase new packaging. The great thing is that we will be aiming to use only compostable packaging. That means no plastics of any kind, that reason being that most folks are unsure of how to recycle different plastics, and many still end up in the landfill. A big no no for us, and we want it to be as easy as possible for you.
